Just want you to know this post made me tear up and inspired me to buy the book, and I read the book for the first time tonight, to my 6 year old who hasn’t figured out how to make friends, and I cried while reading it. My son loved it too. You do a beautiful job of staying focused on the child’s experience, but the father’s experience is depicted so beautifully that it cracked open my heart. I imagine it is not easy to pull off the parent’s experience in a way that isn’t distracting for the child audience but is real and meaningful. Thank you for making that effort. It is something special.
Congrats! I’m currently writing my first children’s book and a peek into your journey is really helpful and inspiring.
super duper congrats, JDS. I hope you know how much YOU are loved.
Congrats my friend.
